Autism Mission

This is a diary of sorts to document my son and family's journey into the world of Autism for a teenager. It is also to document my son's journey into "overcoming Autism". We, as a family, have started Mendability and wish to chronicle from day one. If you wish to know more, please join us. I am starting off writing this blog but my hopes are that, in time, Jacob will want to blog here about his experience as well. Time will tell.

*****UPDATE******

Unfortunately, Jacob could not handle Mendablility. It was too much for him. I cannot stress enough how much Mendability can do for children on the spectrum. Although it did not work for Jacob, I have heard MANY positive testimonies from other parents. Please don't let our situation keep you from exploring Mendability. They are a great group of researchers and providers and I am quite sad that Jacob and I are not able to work with them. Please, take me very serious on this note. The people at Mendability have been nothing but EXCEPTIONAL to me and my child. I wish them all the best and will keep up with their progress as they continue their much amazing work. Check them out if you have a child on the spectrum. If you know someone who has a child on the spectrum, please pass along their information.

However, we decided that we still want to share and write about Autism. We have revised our goal for this site and now our mission is to:

Overcoming Autism is about accepting those with Autism and celebrating their stories of encouragement. Overcoming Autism is a personal blog that shares news and latest updates on Asperger's and Autism. We also spotlight those on the Autism spectrum and their remarkable "abilities". Also, check out our Autism Website Store that will help raise awareness about Autism while supporting the cause to aid in treatments and solutions to each and every person with Autism. We Accept Autism!
